About Me
Hi!
My name is Janet Walden. I am currently an anthropology / archaeology
student at the University of Tennessee. I also
work as an e.r. vet tech to pay tuition and show entries!
I have been involved in dog showing and Aussies for over
17 years-showing in the regular classes before I was old enough to compete in Junior
Showmanship. I have been privileged to show a variety of breeds from the Herding,Working,Non-Sporting,Toy,Hound and Sporting Groups. I have grown up with Aussies and was first introduced to them
as working farm dogs.
I am a member of ASCA, USASA, Volunteer State ASC and Tennessee Australian Shepherd Club. I have served the latter 2 in various positions, including President,Affiliate Rep and Board member. I am involved with rescue both through our local reps and privately, doing evaluations, transport, and health care.
The goal of Oak and Ash is to preserve the Aussie as the beautiful, intelligent, healthy working dog that I first met. Each and every Oak and Ash Aussie should be the kind of dog that you can take from the show ring and put to work as a farm dog, babysitter, or performance athlete.
